Smoke and Mirrors

Hatch day (as Terry calls it), wasn't as pleasant as I hoped it would be. For some reason the thought of this day causes me to be distraught, depressed and irritable.

But it ended well, with a lovely low fat "cake" that had carbon dioxide steaming out it's base (the mother bought dry ice from swensens and placed it in a bowl to add effect). The candles were fitted lovingly into strawberry slices and mango cubes. In place of a knife, I used an ice cream scoop to cut scoop the cake.

The family got me a lovely Oxford Dictionary and Thesaurus as well as this OMGFANTABULOUS Neil Gaiman book titled, Smoke and Mirrors. (Both upon request :D)

This book is the best book ever! I miss reading good books and am glad to have moved away from the likes of Harry Potter and the Da Vinci Code. Dadster snapped a photo of me reading my dictionary after dinner because he said he's never taken a photo of anyone reading a dictionary before.. ahhaha.

Penster found a way to "deliver" her gift all the way from Taiwan. It was a DVD of a modern version of Shakespeare's "The Twelfth Night", starring Amanda Bynes (!). The younger sister got me some cute paraphernalia that was as usual, very amusing. The mother also got me a "De-stress ball" that really looks damn retarded. I wish I could post a picture of it up here because it was just the funniest little ball I've ever seen! It's bright, highlighter yellow and feels sort of squishy with these tentacle-like things sticking out of it. There's a ridiculous smile painted on one side of it and it has a long string attached. Inside there is some motion/ impact (we couldn't figure it out last night) sensor that causes some multi-coloured LEDs to flash whenever you bounce it up and down. When the mother demonstrated the use of it, I was sent into peals of laughter. SERIOUSLY THE FUNNIEST THING EVER HAHAHAHA.

Thanks to everyone who wished me Happy Birthday (: It meant a lot to me.

Ah so the birthday wasn't that bad afterall...It ended nice and sweet with me falling asleep while reading the introduction of "Smoke and Mirrors" in the cozy comfort of Pam's bed (sorry Pam, the aircon in my room broke down and I had to migrate to yours for the night.. It was raining pillow and bolster because it seems that Prissy likes to push them off her bed in the dead of the night).

It's already Saturday.. and I've got so much work to do :( There's training tmr morning and everyone (i mean EVERYONE. ok except Jon) has gone to A'famosa for the tri. ZZZ. I have a feeling that tmr's ride is going to be one hell of a lonely/boring one :(
